Part of the
e Charmadi range, Shingani Gudda is also known as Buddhas peak. At the foot of the peak is the village of Arasinamakki. The mountain gives the impression of balancing one peak on top of another. The first peak is covered by high rising trees, while green grassland covers the second peak. From the summit, one can see the adjoining peaks of Amedikallu and Sibile Gudda.


About the Trek

We were 42 members, had booked 3jeeps, our starting point was fromjuicee. The exact time we planned to move from juice was 8:20 a.m, but many had to come froma long distance especially girls, finally,y we leftjuicee @ 8:45 a.m, few were being picked on the way. We had to adjust with the uncomfortable seating in the jeep.We reached the spot @9:50 a.m,
we had carried buns, cucumber, oranges, juice packets, and mango bitee chocolates. We all started to split it and distribute it to each one in a small carry bag, 1orange, 1cucumber, 1juice packet, 3buns, 2mangobite chocolate, 1perk.

We started to climb the mountain @ around 10:00 a.m, with a local guide Mr.Babu. Mr.babu has 25 years of experience. We were told there was a team from Mangalore before us. Guide headed all of us, I was surprised to see him without any footwear he was moving ahead of us with a big knife in his hand as a precaution. We all moved with excitement but as the time passed few were lagging behind, our leader (Purujith) was shouting to cover the gap.

Thick forest, and hence guide is a must to this place. No one was allowed to rest until we reached the viewpoint.

We reached the viewpoint @ around 11:45 a.m, we were told to eat oranges. Without wasting more time here, we left within 10 minutes.

We got a small stream on the way, where we washed our face, drank the cool and sweet water. Again we started to move, after some distance the way of thick forest which protected us from hot sun ended.

The upcoming way was filled with tall grasses with hot sun. Few girls fell due to unconsciousness, gave them glucose and rest of 5 minutes and again started to move.

We finally reached 2nd rest point we all rested there for about 10 minutes. Beautiful Peak was visible. Few, who was tired rested here. We all kept our belongings here and started Climbing to reach the peak.

It was a bit difficult but we made it possible, with a mesmerizing view all around, we reached a peak around 1:45 p.m.

All were busy taking pics. After 15-20 minutes we headed back to the 2nd rest point. We had our lunch (buns and juice).
Took some beautiful pics of nature, then again started to move back @ around 2:00 p.m, we had carried a big bag to dump all the waste and we carried it with us to avoid littering the place. Returning was much easier than climbing, we reached back @ around 5:00 p.m.
We took 3:30 hrs to climb and 3hrs to return.


How to reach

(Shingani Gudda),thise place is in a small village called Arasinamaki. Travel in the route which goes towards Shishileshwara temple, which is between Dharmasthalakokodaa. Take a left turn which goes to a village named budmugaru. Just travel 2miles, you will find a way towardsthe forest to your right.
It is 35 k.m from ujire. 288 k.m from Bengaluru.


Difficulty level: Moderate

The distance of trekking: 5 k.m (Two way)
